Reservoir expansion modifications are any modification that adds water capacity to a water gun's reservoir. Backpack modifications are the most popular type of reservoir expansion modifications, but this page deals with modifications that don't include a backpack.
On pressurized reservoir water guns, you have to ensure that you create a seal that is not only perfect without pressure, but with pressure, or else you will have a leak. Epoxy and plumber's epoxy are good for that.
