Spinner's Review
The Helix was one of the 2004 line-up that met with some approval just after the release of the 2004 guns. It’s a piston soaker with the special feature of spinning nozzles, so that the water is sprayed in a circle. The diameter of the circle can be adjusted to some extent, but not to the point where they are parallel. The spread therefore is high, and covers a wide angle. That’s about the only plus, if you can call it that. The range, although it will depend to some extent on the power of the user’s arms, is less than good. It’s often said that the Helix is “good for close-quarters combat”, but I’m afraid I can’t really agree with that. I can say that if I was close to the enemy, I would prefer a straight stream which I would drag across the enemy repeatedly. I’d recommend you give the Helix a miss unless it’s been reduced heavily. You might be able to mod it like Doom modded the Vaporizer…
